With a broken heart, we are sharing the sad news that Stephen Barber, WA4B, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly earlier today.

Steve was in a very serious car accident last Saturday close to Tallahassee, but he had been making a steady recovery—talking and in good spirits. Unfortunately, during the early morning hours yesterday, he developed Respiratory Distress Syndrome as a complication of the accident. He declined rapidly overnight.

Please keep his wife, Virginia Bradford Lauramore and his children Christy Barber Rogers and Charles Barber in your prayers during this incredibly difficult time.

The Viewing is Jan 30,2026 at Hardage Giddens Funeral Home 11801 San Jose Boulevard in Mandarin 5pm to 7 pm.

Funeral and church services will be Jan 31,2026 at Hogan Baptist Church 8045 Hogan Rd Jax,Fl 10:30 am service with Graveside at 12:00 Oaklawn Cemetery
